The Company

The company specializes in the development of bespoke applications-that is, specialized software tailored to the specific needs and specifications of each client or project-as well as offering comprehensive long-term support services (operational, technical/user support, and development).

The company invests in developing its own solutions. The main platforms are RG and IoT.

The expertise and tools used for application development are based on, or consist entirely of, open-source technologies.

Services

Our main services in brief

Reasonable Graph

ReasonableGraph.org platform is an open-source repository application for the digital and descriptive cataloguing of assets, as well as for ontology access and management.

Internet-of-Things (IoT) Services

We specialise in research and innovation in telemetry networks with real-time monitoring, and in advanced analytical workflows based on data mining and machine learning. Altsol IoT Services

Library Services

Metadata processing services, support for libraries and archives. Installation, configuration, training, and general support for the Koha ILS.

Custom Development

We undertake participation in all phases of a project’s development, such as the analysis and documentation of specifications, the analysis and design of the software to be developed, the implementation, the installation, as well as its support.

More details

The platform is based on widely adopted open-source technologies. It supports the archiving of different types of digital documents (such as, for example, newspapers, journals, books, posters, cards, etc.) and files (such as pdf, epub, images, wav, mp3, mp4, etc.).

Key Features

  •   Library and digital collections management
  •   A general web solution for managing digital and physical collections
  •   It natively manages ontologies defined in a scientific field or based on standards (e.g. FRBR-FRAD-FRSAD / FRBR LRM, BIB-FRAME, FRBR-OO, e.t.c.)
  •   Offers the ability to manage your organisation’s collection directly as a semantic and linked open dataset
  •   Integration of the Bibliographic catalogue and digital collections

Innovations

  •   Easy implementation and mixing of generic semantic models, standard-based or customized
  •   Cataloguing directly onto the semantic model
  •   Faceted search fully customised to the semantic model
  •   Voice search, full text search + OCR

Strengths

  •   Specialized metadata entry forms for each entity and document type
  •   Specialized display pages for each entity and document type
  •   Dedicated viewers for each type of digital file (bitstream)
  •   Data presentation as a wiki
  •   Development and enrichment of the context and not just the documents
  •   Data modelling in a graph σε γράφο
  •   Logical inference on the graph
  •   Multilingual metadata
  •   Linked data: representation of metadata in RDFa, RDF/XML, JSON-LD

More information and Demo

We specialise in research and innovation in telemetry networks with real-time monitoring and advanced analysis workflows based on data mining and machine learning.

In this way, we offer the dissemination of end-to-end services, starting from the sensor and reaching the user interface. We focus on converting input information into smart and decisive data, with spatial and temporal annotation, ready to be used and visualised.

The services we provide cover the entire data lifecycle to facilitate smart decision-making and support a wide range of strategic and operational directions.

  More information

  •   Extraction of all metadata from the existing ILS and transfer to Koha
  •   Ability to convert UNIMARC records to MARC21 and vice versa, with a guarantee of 100% successful metadata transfer
  • Cleaning and correction of bibliographic and authority records from invalid MARC fields - subfields and incorrect characters
  •   Merging of multiple records
  •   Conversion of records based on RDA cataloguing rules

  •   Provision of cataloguing services for bibliographic and archival material
  •   Input in multiple metadata schemes, such as MARC21, UNIMARC, EAD, Dublin Core
  •   Implementation based on multiple descriptive rules, such as AACR2, RDA, ISAD
  •   Services for subject and classification processing of material based on systems such as NBG, LC, DDC, etc.
  •   Services for digitisation, shelf-marking, and archiving of material
  •   Services for sticking Barcodes, RFID, location labels, etc.

Open Source Integrated Library Management System

  •   Installation of Koha (MARC21 and UNIMARC)

  •   Training on Koha and MARC formats
  •   Koha support services with regular updates and upgrades
  •   Koha hosting services on our company’s servers

Koha - ReasonableGraph Interoperability

  •   Conversion of bibliographic and authority metadata into linked data and their development and display based on the conceptual models of FRBR
  •   Use of Koha as an ILS for creating records based on MARC
  •   Use of ReasonableGraph as a platform for developing and linking records based on the entities of the FRBR, FRAD, and FRSAD models
  •   Automatic, bidirectional linking of Koha and ReasonableGraph
  •   Utilisation of the search, retrieval, and display capabilities provided by ReasonableGraph
